Richard Reid has presented the practice’s Concept Plan for the Three Kings area to an audience of 255 people at Three Kings School. This is the highest attendance number the Puketapapa Local Board has recorded for discussion of a local issue.

The meeting was called to discuss Fletcher Residential Ltd’s proposed land exchange with Auckland Council and the perceived inequality of this swap from the PLB and community’s point of view. It was felt the land exchange favoured Fletcher’s preferred masterplan whilst diminishing the value of Three Kings Reserve and the landscape setting of Big King Volcano.

Richard illustrated how a different arrangement of public open space and residential development could better join with the emerging town centre, surrounding community and Big King Volcano. The PLB believes our Concept Plan better meets the principles and objectives of its Three Kings Plan.
