Richard Reid & Associates has made a submission to the Environmental Protection Authority on NZTA’s Basin Bridge Proposal for Wellington. NZTA has applied to build a motorway flyover through one of the most significant historic, civic and urban areas of New Zealand directly adjacent to one of the world’s most highly valued cricket grounds.

We oppose the application in full and request NZTA’s proposal is declined. Our opposition is based upon our assessment of the proposal’s significant adverse effects, inadequate mitigation and failure to adequately consider alternative sites, routes and methods of undertaking the work.  

We will provide expert witness evidence to the hearing and will also represent the Mt. Victoria Residents Association in its opposition to the NZTA proposal.
