The Mt. Roskill Cone Section of the Waikaraka Cycleway was officially opened today.

The project was blessed by Ngati Whatua o Orakei in a dawn ceremony. Later in the morning representatives from Auckland City Council and Ngati Whatua opened the pathway to the public. A procession of walkers and cyclists were led along the pathway on a guided tour of the project.

Richard Reid and Associates Ltd has been working on this project since 2005. The project finally completes our work on the volcano which started with Transit NZ in 2003.
